After PPET commits capital, the underlying funds and co‑investments draw on those commitments over several years to acquire controlling stakes in established private companies, typically through management buyouts. These businesses are then developed under active ownership. When the investment case has been delivered, companies may be sold to industrial buyers, to other private equity sponsors, or listed via an IPO. Interests acquired through secondary transactions generally return capital sooner, as the assets are closer to exit. Cash proceeds flow back to the Trust under its commitments, and we redeploy capital into new opportunities, continuing the investment cycle.”
